Take a pan & add 1 tsp ghee, add grated coconut & Roast it for just about 2 minutes.
Add Jaggery keep cooking on medium flame until the jaggery melts.
Add dry fruits and mix well.
Add Cardamon Powder & Mix well. Stuffing is ready. Let it cool down.
In a bowl add wheat flour and all-purpose flour(Maida), Salt & add the hot 1 tbs ghee to the mixture. Add Water & knead the dough as chapati dough. Make a soft dough. Transfer the dough into a bowl and keep it covered.
The dough should neither be too thick nor too thin.
Take the steamer upper pot or deep pan. Add 1 1/2 glass of water to the steamer or pan for boiling. Cover the lead and keep it at medium flame for about 5-6 min.
Take a small portion of the dough and start rolling into soft small puri.
Take the puri in your hands and pinch the edges to make petals.
Fill each small puri with the coconut stuffing.
Fill the stuffing and close the petals.
Grease the strainer with ghee and transfer the modak to the strainer.
Keep that strainer in the steamer.
Close the lead and steam modak at medium flame for 10-15 min.
Turn of the Gas and modak’s are ready to serving.
Note: Fill stuffing of Grated Coconut and Jaggery in puri after it cools down. Otherwise, the stuffing will out from the modak.
