Murmura Laddu Recipe | How To Make Murmura Laddu? Step By Step Guide

Murmura Ladoo or puffed rice Ladoo is a crispy, crunchy, delicious, sweet and easy Ladoo recipe ready in minutes. These are made from Murmura/ puffed rice and jaggery are also called Murmura Ladoo, puffed rice Ladoo and Puri Unde recipe.

I had prepared these Ladoos at the time of ‘ MAKAR SANKRANTI.’

Puffed rice Ladoos are a straightforward recipe, making very few ingredients and can be put together in no time.

In this recipe, the consistency of jaggery is essential to prepare the perfect Ladoo. Ladoos are made they contract and become crunchy if the thickness of the syrup is right. Keep Ladoos at room temperature until they cool completely. They can then be stored in an airtight container for 3-4 weeks. They even make good edible home-made gifs.

INGREDIENTS
  1. 4 cup of Murmura/ puffed rice
  2. 2 cup of jaggery
  3. ½ tsp cardamom powder
  4. ¼ tsp baking soda
  5. 1 tsp ghee
  6. Water

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Take 4 cups of dry Murmura and roast on low flame.
  2. Dry roast until the Murmura turns crisp keep it aside.
  3. Take a large Kadai and ghee in a Kadai then add jaggery.
  4. Add a little bit of water, keep the flame low and stir continuously until the jaggery melts.
  5. After jaggery melts and combined with ghee, the mixture turns frothy.
  6. Check the consistency by dropping syrup into a bowl of water. It should form a softball. Otherwise, boil the syrup for minutes and check again.
  7. Add cardamom powder and mix well.
  8. Add baking soda and mix well.
  9. Add dry roasted Murmura and mix gently.
  10. Mix until all the mixture is well combined, or the puffed rice is completely coated with jaggery syrup.
  11. Grease the ghee to the plate and add transfer the mixture to the plate.
  12. Grease your hand with oil or ghee.
  13. Prepare Ladoo when the mixture is still hot or warm.
  14. Make sure that Ladoos are made before the mixture cools down.
  15. Murmura Ladoo is ready to serve.
  16. Murmura Ladoo is stored in an airtight container and consumed within 3-4 weeks.

NOTES

  • In that recipe, the consistency of jaggery syrup is very important to prepare for the perfect Murmura Ladoo.
  • Additionally, you can add crushed dry fruits or peanuts along with Murmura.
  • If you are looking for a color full of Ladoo, you can add food colour to the mixture.
  • Prepare Ladoo when the mixture is hot once the mixture cools, it will not be possible to make Ladoo. So make sure to preheat the mixture in the microwave and prepare
  • Murmura Ladoo.
