HOMEMADE VANILLA ICE CREAM

Vanilla is frequently used to flavor ice cream. Especially in North America and Europe. Vanilla ice cream, like other flavors of ice cream, was originally created by cooling a mixture made of cream, sugar, milk, cornflour, and vanilla essence.

In this basic vanilla ice cream recipe, I have used vanilla essence to give a vanilla flavor. In fact, this recipe is very adapted and you can have any flavored ice cream by adding various flavoring ingredients. so you can use this recipe ice cream recipe base to make various types of ice creams

VARIATIONS POSSIBLE WITH ICE CREAM RECIPE

Butterscotch ice cream-  for butterscotch ice cream,  add ½ cup of crushed praline or butterscotch chips in the ice cream.

Pineapple ice cream-  add 1 cup pineapple pulp

Custard ice creamfor custard ice cream, add 2 tbsp custard powder in chilled milk and boil the mixture for 15 minutes and cool completely then use.

Mango ice cream- for mango ice cream add 1 cup mango pulp

Strawberry ice cream- for strawberry ice cream add 1 cup strawberry crush.

INGREDIENTS
  1. 1 cup of chilled milk
  2. 1 tbsp cornflour
  3. ¼ cup of sugar
  4. 1 cup of whipping cream
  5. ½ tbsp vanilla essence
  6. Chopped dry fruits for garnishing

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Firstly, in a bowl take chilled milk and add cornflour and mix it well.
  2. Add prepared cornflour and milk paste to the hot kadhai.
  3. On medium flame stir continuously.
  4. Add sugar and
  5. Cool completely prepared mixture.
  6. In bowl take  cup of whipping cream
  7. Strain the prepared mixture through the strainer.
  8. Add vanilla essence in the mixture.
  9. Blend the mixture until it gets thick with the help of a blender or in a mixing jar.
  10. Our ice cream mixture is ready.
  11. Pour the ice cream mixture into an airtight container.
  12. Cover the lid and place the container in the freezer for at least 8 hours or overnight or till they set completely.
  13. After 8 hours take a scooper and scoop up the vanilla ice cream into a serving dish.  Make sure to wet your scooper in hot water before scooping this helps to scoop ice cream easily.
  14. Finally, garnish with few coco chips or some chopped dry fruits or choco syrup before serving.

NOTES

  • Store ice cream in an airtight container avoid ice crystals from forming on top.
  • You can use fresh cream instead of whipping cream.
  • If you are fond of nuts, raisins or dried exotic berries, you can add them to this recipe to make it tasty.
  • Serve the vanilla ice cream taste great with waffles, warm gulab jamuns, brownies or even add shakes and desserts.
