Coriander coconut chutney is a straightforward, easy and quick recipe. It is a side dish mainly prepared for breakfast with idli, Rava dosa, dosa, Amboli, vada.

The best part is that it is a fresh chutney and you enjoy it only when you consume it fresh.

You can make so many variations in that chutney like adding lemon juice, tamarind, mint leaves, coriander leaves.

INGREDIENTS

FOR MAKING CHUTNEY

  1. 2 cup of fresh chopped or grated coconut pieces
  2. 6-8 garlic cloves
  3. ¼ inch chopped ginger
  4. 2 green chilis
  5. 1 small piece of tamarind
  6. Salt to taste
  7. ¾ cup of water
  8. Fresh coriander

FOR MAKING TADAKA

  1. 2 tbsp oil
  2. ½ tbsp cumin seeds
  3. ½ tbsp mustard seeds
  4. 6-7 curry leaves
  5. 2 dried red chilli

INSTRUCTIONS

FOR MAKING CHUTNEY

  1. In a mixing, jar takes fresh chopped coconut pieces, green chilli, ginger, garlic, salt, fresh coriander and a small tamarind piece.
  2. Add water as per your requirements.
  3. Blend to smooth paste.
  4. You can add more water to adjust the consistency.
  5. Take out the chutney into a bowl.

FOR TADKA

  1. Heat up oil in tadka pan
  2. After heating oil add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, dried red chillies.
  3. Cover it and let it cool down.
  4. After cooling, Tadka add it to the chutney and mix well.
  5. Coriander coconut chutney is ready to serve.
  6. You can serve this with Rava idli, dosa, Amboli too.

NOTES

  1. Also, add roasted peanuts for restaurant-style coconut chutney recipes.
  2. You can use only fresh coconut for more juicy and flavoured chutney.
  3. You can also add in Tadka urad dal for a different flavour.
